Bespoke jewellery

Let your unworn jewellery tell the story you have always wanted it to
Jewellery has an amazing power to capture a moment, honour a loved one or signify a milestone. To some people, jewellery is a second thought, but for others it's a way to tell the world you who are and what you stand for. Josie has worked with countless customers to create a piece of jewellery that is full of meaning and individuality. This service is for those that appreciate the unique and strive for an unapologetically authentic self. I introduce you to Bespoke Jewellery Commisions with Josie.

Our Bespoke Service

Transform your unworn jewellery and heirloom pieces into a bespoke treasure, whether it be a Necklace, Ring or Bracelet. Create a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery with Josie for yourself, someone you love or in memorial.

Working alongside with Josies expertise and expereince, together you will design the perfect creation of fine jewellery to honour your unworn treasures.

This service can be done remotely or in our shop at 6 Palmer street, Frome, BA11 1DS.

Let Us Re-Imagine Your Unworn Heirlooms

Josie has experience working with heirloom stones, and unworn silver and gold. Care and attention goes into looking after your personal items and ensuring that the final product is of a high-quality and exceeding your expectations.

If you're not sure on how exactly you want to transform your unworn jewellery, or heirloom jewellery? Josie can also guide and consult you to find a result which you will cherish.

Enjoy The Process

Once you have decided on the final design, Josie will get to work on bringing the treasure to life using her contemporary approach to metalsmithing. Your one-of-a-kind treasure will be entirely hand fabricated from her Frome studio, and she will keep you informed about any updates and images of the creative process.

The process of a Bespoke Jewellery Service from start to finish can take up to 8 weeks. Please let Josie know if it is time sensitive, and she will do whatever she can to ensure you receive your piece by the time requested.

Terms and Conditions.

Please read carefully before proceeding to work with Josie for Bespoke Commissions.

Returns and exchanges

Bespoke and custom jewellery is exempt from the refund and exchange policy unless structurally faulty. If you are not based in the UK and would like to return an item, please note that a customs declaration form will be required on shipping. The goods will need to be correctly detailed as ‘RETURNED BRITISH GOODS’ in order to ensure that no additional customs fees are incurred on re-import to the UK. In the instance that an item is incorrectly marked and a customs fee is incurred, this may be passed onto the customer. This may also delay the returns process.

Bespoke dates guideline

I will do my utmost to ensure that you receive your jewellery by the agreed upon date, but I advise a grace period of 1-2 weeks, due to the nature of metalsmithing and working with fire. Please be aware that the average bespoke piece of jewellery takes 4-6 weeks, but in some cases may take longer.

Shipping

All bespoke jewellery will be shipped using special delivery with Royal mail and you will receive your jewellery by 1 pm the next working day. Josie Mitchell jewellery will not be held accountable for damages, theft or missing parcels and will not offer refunds once the jewellery is no longer in my care.

Deposit and payment

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the complete payment is required before manufacturing can begin. This will secure your space on my custom list, and allows me to make you a high priority customer. During our consultation you will be given the opportunity to complete your payment in full, or split it over the course of a few months.
ONE-TIME PAYMENT: If you choose to complete your payment in full, you will receive an email with a link to the website. Here you can fill out your details and complete your payment.
SPLIT PAYMENT: If you choose to split your payment over the course of a few months, you will receive a Paypal link to set up a monthly direct debit. Please be aware that work will not start on your bespoke piece until the full payment has been received.

Heirloom re-designs/ Stone resetting

Please be aware of the dangers of heirloom re-designs and stone resetting. Stones may be faulty due to wear and tear (especially in older rings) and can crack upon removal or re-setting. Josie Mitchell Jewellery will not be held responsible for damages that may occur.

Cast in place

If you choose to have your stones cast within the jewellery piece (this process is called cast in place and means that molten metal is poured over the stones to secure them in place- it is a highly organic and ancient form of metalsmithing), there is a greater chance of damages to the structure of the stone due to the heat it is under- stones that can withstand the heat are Diamonds, Rubys, Garnet, Cubic Zirconia, various lab grown coloured gemstones and Sapphires. The chances are slim that they could damage, but please be aware of the risks involved. Josie Mitchell Jewellery will not be held responsible for damages that may occur.

Feedback and complaints

I always welcome feedback from our customers as it enables me to improve my services. If I should receive a complaint, by phone, email or letter, then it will be dealt with promptly. Please contact me on josiemitchelljewellery@gmail.com
