Sustainability Ethos

Sustainability comes in all shapes and sizes. From the metal used to craft the jewellery, all the way down to the sourcing of stones and packaging.

My passion for sustainability is not limited to one element, but a whole encompassing movement towards a fully sustainable and ethical business.

Our purchases have a direct impact on our planet, and the world seems to be waking up to this realisation-and it's about time.

The word "sustainable" is tossed around in a lot of industries with no real effort to actually make a difference.

Here are a couple of ways JMJ is sustainably and ethically crafting beautiful, timeless jewellery with minimal impact on the planet- but a big impact on you. Our jewellery should be built to last a lifetime, not just a season.

Recycled metals

I melt down scraps of silver and gold into new creations, by using an in-house casting technique.

By recycling metals this takes pressure off mining for raw materials. It is also a wonderful way to re-purpose unworn jewellery into new treasures that can be passed down to future generations.

I believe jewellery should be built to last and treasured for a lifetime. For this reason I choose not to gold plate any of my work due to the short lived benefits and unsustainable implications.

Ethical Stone Sourcing

I buy my unique and one-of-a-kind stones from small businesses and family run mines. Supporting small communities is so important and integral to fighting against the growing ethical issues and sustainability problems we are facing- especially in the jewellery industry. I will always choose to support small businesses over larger corporations as they are paving the way to a more sustainable future for our planet.

Ecologi Partnership

I've partnered with Ecologi to plant a tree with every purchase! We are making serious steps toward a sustainable future by protecting our planet and giving back to mother nature whenever possible.

Sustainable packaging

I am constantly assessing the ways I choose to package your jewellery. Getting the perfect balance of sustainability and making the unboxing experience memorable and luxurious is a fun challenge, but I feel I have discover the best way to deliver your treasures safely and sustainably.

I use FSC certified cardboard packaging that is fully recyclable and the jewellery box will arrive with a cardboard insert, gently wrapped in recycled tissue paper.
