Hi! I'm Josie and I am the designer and maker behind Josie Mitchell Jewellery. I started making jewellery around 3 years ago whilst I was stuck in a job that didn't make me happy. Every day I'd come home from work and feel unfulfilled and empty. I longed for a life of creativity and wanted a career that would challenge me and bring me joy. Then I came across jewellery and my whole life changed...

Ethos

Craftsmanship

I believe that our jewellery is a representation of who we are and what we stand for. Through an eclectic mix of old-school and innovative techniques I have created a signature style that will stand the test of time and celebrates our gorgeous planet through unique and perfectly imperfect textures.

Sustainability

Creating jewellery that is sustainable and has minimal impact on our planet is my passion. We are blessed with living on a gorgeous planet, and I believe the responsibility is ours to look after and care for our landscapes. By using recycled metals this takes pressure off mining for raw materials. It is also a wonderful way to re-purpose unworn jewellery into new treasures that can be passed down to future generations. I believe jewellery should be built to last and treasured for a lifetime. For this reason I choose not to gold plate any of my work due to the short lived benefits and unsustainable implications.

Supporting Small

I buy my unique and one-of-a-kind stones from small businesses and family run mines. Supporting small community's is so important and integral to fighting against the growing ethical issues and sustainability problems we are facing- especially in the jewellery industry. I will always choose to support small businesses over larger corporations as they are paving the way to a more sustainable future for our planet.
